Lots of people had asked me about the same question, “Why don’t you continue your study on art field but turned into Computer Science?”
The reason is pretty simple: I want to make video games. I loved playing video games since I was ten years old when I first got a taste of playing Diablo II.
I think one of the very good ways of using my art skill is to making video games. However, it’s not enough to only know how to draw things, it’s very important to know how to actually develop a game as well. Here comes to the programming side of making video games.
Since I like math and love to solve difficult problems, I made the decision on majoring in Computer Science in 2014. There was a report showing that the University of Utah had an EAE (Entertainment Arts & Engineering) program which was also in Computer Science degree but let students study more things on video game development. Also, it is a top-ranked game design program in the U.S. I made the decision immediately to study at the University of Utah.
Then, here I am. With long-term training, I learned software development, game development, web app development and also a lot of other very useful skills. I also got in touch with machine learning, which is a very interesting and popular topic.

It’s the last semester I’m studying at university. I feel proud that I have overcome many difficulties to get here. I hope that I can learn more things about game development in the future. I’ll never stop learning new things.
